Now, we’re looking for a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) to join our growing family and make a lasting impact in the San Ysidro community.

Position Summary

The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) will provide evidence-based, integrated behavioral health services to adults, older adults, children, and families within a primary care setting. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, you’ll conduct psychological assessments, develop treatment plans, and offer brief, effective interventions that make a measurable difference in people’s lives.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Evaluate, assess, and provide evidence-based behavioral health interventions for patients across the lifespan.
• Partner with primary care providers to design and implement effective treatment plans.
• Conduct crisis interventions, including suicide risk assessments and safety planning.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to clinical staff and medical teams regarding behavioral health needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Coordinate care with external community resources, including mental health and substance use treatment centers.
• Supervise or mentor unlicensed staff or interns (as applicable).
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all regulatory standards while modeling professionalism and empathy.
• Contribute to a culture that values humor, humanity, and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current California LPCC License (required).
• Experience working in primary care, community mental health , or integrated healthcare settings preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform crisis intervention and manage complex behavioral health cases.
• Strong understanding of culturally responsive care and trauma-informed practices.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Education

• Master’s degree in Counseling , Clinical Psychology , or a related field from an accredited institution.

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatment models (CBT, DBT, ACT, SBIRT, etc.).
• Understanding of co-occurring disorders and integrated behavioral health practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in EHR systems, documentation software, and telehealth platforms.
