What your key responsibilities look like: Anticipating future industry developments and understanding how they will impact our organisation. Develop and articulate a clear future-proof strategy. Aligning leaders and key industry stakeholders to deliver in those 'future states'. Partner closely with the Electric and Gas COO's to lead delivery of portfolio transformation initiatives. Including, governance, performance management, risk management etc. Coaching and problem solving with initiative owners Lead the New England business unity in developing an innovation strategy and building capabilities to scale up new technologies Fostering partnerships and relationships with key industry stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, governmental agencies, industry partners and of course, our customers. Experience needed to be successful: A degree in Business, Engineering or relevant field. An MBA or relevant Master's degree is preferred. Extensive leadership experience, at least 10 years leading within the Energy or Utilities industry. Ability to cultivate high-performing teams, leaning into an innovative and continuous improvement mindset. A proven track record in strategy development and leading transformation initiatives. Excellent communication skills. You will be skilled at influencing and challenging through a complex, matrixed organisation. You can clearly articulate your understanding of industry trends, the regulatory landscape and emerging technologies that impact National Grid. You will have a commitment to sustainability and innovation.
