Position: Public Health Educator 2

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement evidence-based programs/initiatives to address tobacco prevention among youth and young adults.
Assist and support the expansion of TNSTRONG youth programs and provide technical assistance to those that promote the TNSTRONG initiatives.
Works directly with the public to facilitate programs, provide community education, and disseminate health-related materials.
Prepare and distribute program materials to internal and external stakeholders that conduct tobacco prevention programs.
Work with tobacco team to plan and implement youth engagement trainings for tobacco prevention.
Participate in regular trainings, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to tobacco prevention and control and the FHW division.
Develop and maintain cooperative, collaborative, working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve program goals and objectives.
Updates and uses relevant knowledge to support the implementation of health education interventions and programs for the community.
Identifies the educational needs of others, supports program staff in the development of educational training programs or classes, and teaches and instructs others.
Assists with the design and delivery of relevant training programs for health department employees, teachers, and other professionals.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in health education, biology, or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in public health, education, or related field
Able to complete and prioritize tasks while working remotely.
Additional Information:
This hybrid position has in-person attendance expected for the first day of employment for laptop deployment and onboarding in Nashville, TN.
Contract for this position is expected to be renewed annually pending program funding. Funding is anticipated to continue at least through June 2029.
Candidates must be a resident of TN.
In-person attendance for quarterly meetings and professional development opportunities.
Travel to Nashville office will not be reimbursed, however travel for site visits will be reimbursed by the state.
Position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday (7.5 hours per day). One evening meeting (1 hour per month) with youth Ambassador, 3 youth events each year that require some weekend work.
