SUMMARY:

Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children is a philanthropic, non-profit, out-patient facility dedicated to the care for local underserved pediatric population. We are a UCLA affiliate and an academic institution. Our physicians are orthopedic pediatric specialists with well-established Sport-Med, Scoliosis, Hand, Neuro, Clubfoot, Fracture, and Limb Difference programs. Our Rehab department offers Occupational and Physical Therapy support to our physicians and to the local pediatricians offering a diverse mix of infant torticollis and developmental delay alongside our Sport Medicine post-operative and non-operative patients. In Rehab, we provide clinical care as well as support the LuskinOIC mission participating in professional seminars to educate other therapists, care-providers, and families. We support professional growth and education and participate in facility research projects. We are looking for a dynamic, warm team member to join our group of exceptional therapists.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs comprehensive evaluations and treatments.
• Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings in support of optimal patient care.
• Provides care with the highest level of customer focused service.
• Works effectively with physicians and other health team members to meet comprehensive needs for effective patient care.
• Documents medical information and charts on timely basis.
• Provides supervision of other physical therapists (PT), PTAs, physical therapy students, rehab aides, and volunteers.
• Participates in departmental performance improvement projects.
• Participates in the Physical Therapy Clinical Education program as a student preceptor as assigned.
• Participates in the review and revision of departmental protocols and standards of care for treatment of specialized patient groups.
• Performs clerical and fiscal optimization duties as assigned or requested.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND SUCCESS INDICATORS:

• Medical records are completed in a timely manner as evidenced by Medical Records Department documentation.
• Billing meets professional standards as evidenced by random chart audits.
• Positive patient, physician and staff relations as evidenced by satisfaction surveys, confidence level and positive comments.
