Part-Time Paralegal – Crystal Lake, IL

Local Law Firm | In-Person with Some Remote Flexibility

We are a small, established civil litigation firm located in Crystal Lake, IL , seeking a Part-Time Paralegal to join our team. Our practice areas include family law, estate planning, probate, real estate , and other civil matters. You’ll be supporting three experienced and personable partners in a collaborative, laid-back office environment that values professionalism and attention to detail.

About the Role:

As a paralegal, you will assist with drafting legal documents, managing case files, client communication, court filings, and other administrative and legal support tasks. This is an in-person role , though some remote work may be possible depending on the circumstances and workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and format legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files
• Conduct legal research as needed
• Prepare and file court documents (e-filing proficiency required)
• Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
• Support attorneys in all aspects of case preparation and management

Qualifications:

• Prior paralegal experience (particularly in family law, probate, or real estate ) is required
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable with standard legal office software and technology, including Smokeball
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced but friendly environment
