Job Description:

For this part-time seasonal position (winter season) as the Middle School Swim Coach, practices are held after school from 3-4pm and meets can be during school, after school and weekends. Your passion for the sport and ability to motivate and inspire players will contribute to their growth and success in and out of the pool. Candidates are expected to attend an orientation meeting and complete all certifications as required by the athletics department, including but not limited to CPR/First Aid, concussion training, bus certifications, and mental health training.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes in order to prepare them for competition.
• Understand how to increase student-athlete proficiency in enhancing and advancing athletic abilities specific to their sport.
• Coach at every practice and swim meet scheduled for the season.
• Support recruitment of student participation and focus on retention for the team.
• Drive the team to swim practice & meets using the school buses and ensure proper supervision is always provided.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and qualifications should include the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Can manage sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Have an excellent understanding of the rules, strategies, and techniques for the sport.
• Knowledgeable about physical fitness, safety, injury, and equipment.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Valid Driver's License.
• A sense of resonance with the St. Mary’s Academy mission.

Salary/Benefits:

This is a part-time, seasonal position and the stipend range for this position is $1,500 - $1,800 depending on experience. Benefits are not provided for this position.
