Job Description

Control Risks is looking for an experienced Event Security Manager to oversee and coordinate the security efforts for various high-profile events. This role will involve collaborating with clients, event organizers, and local law enforcement to create a secure environment for attendees, staff, and stakeholders. The Event Security Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing security operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and responding to incidents effectively and efficiently.

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop security plans tailored to specific events.
  • Manage and coordinate security personnel and resources on-site during events, ensuring all security staff are appropriately trained and briefed.
  • Establish relationships with local enforcement agencies and emergency services to facilitate collaboration and communication during events.
  • Monitor security systems and procedures, including access control, perimeter security, and incident response protocols.
  • Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills with security staff to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for security concerns, liaising with clients and event stakeholders to ensure all their needs are met.
  • Provide post-event security assessments and reports, offering insights and recommendations for future events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event security management.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in security management, preferably in event security.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency management practices in event settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and implementation of effective security measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or SP (Security Professional) are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including travel on weekends for events during the week.
  • Basic medical training required (CPR or First Aid).

Desirable

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience managing security for large-scale events or international gatherings.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000-130,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
