Summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint. We are seeking a creative and mission-driven Communications & Grant Writing Manager to join our team. This role will lead efforts to elevate our brand, tell our story, and secure critical funding through compelling grant proposals. You?ll manage content across platforms, maintain media relationships, and collaborate closely with leadership and program teams to bring our impact to life.

Duties

Leadership & Strategy
  • Support the organization?s strategic goals by overseeing communications initiatives and managing grant writing projects.
  • Supervise communications-related staff, interns, or consultants when applicable.
  • Ensure all public-facing content is accurate, professional, and aligned with the organization?s brand and messaging.
Grant Writing & Fund Development
  • Research and identify prospective funding sources.
  • Write and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
  • Work with program and finance teams to gather data, impact stories, and budget details.
  • Track grant activity, deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with stewardship and communication to funders and supporters.
Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and implement communications plans that promote Club programs, events, and impact to the community.
  • Oversee the creation of print and digital materials, including newsletters, flyers, brochures, email campaigns, and annual reports.
  • Manage the organization?s website and social media accounts to ensure timely and consistent messaging.
  • Coordinate press releases, media outreach, and promotional partnerships.
  • Ensure all materials and messaging adhere to Boys & Girls Club brand guidelines.
Event Support
  • Support the promotion of fundraising events and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist in developing content and materials for event invitations, programs, and presentations.
  • Help generate community engagement through storytelling, visuals, and outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, English, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2?3 years of experience in communications, grant writing, or nonprofit fundraising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, website content management systems, and design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on deadline-driven projects.
  • Familiarity with donor databases or grant tracking systems is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standard office environment; hybrid/remote work may be considered.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and using office equipment.
  • May involve occasional travel to Club sites or events and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Some exposure to children's voices and program activity during site visits.
